Cracking The Nut: Part 5

This is Part 7 of my "The Nut" series... And it is also the last part. I had a few expansions and alternate endings in mind, but with the Glipho shutdown and all, I decided that I better wrap this up.

I make my way over to the guard station at the base perimeter to find that it looks a lot like a parking structure like I've seen at malls.

A quick look reveals that there are 7 floors to the structure, and I know that there are at least 100 guards.
When I found the wreckage of what was supposed to be my ride back, I found a few spare items that will likely be of use to me.

3 Grenades, A frequency jammer, and a device we use to hack cameras and other devices.
I sneak my way into the structure and walk to where the entrance is supposed to be.

I taser the one guard they have at the entrance by sneaking up on him. He did not even suspect a thing.
Unfortunately, his radio starts beeping when he hits the ground.

Dispatch: "Heard something. Everything OK over there?"

Me: "Um... I don't know what you heard, but everything's ship-shape over here."

Dispatch: "Alright, sure."

Me: "Why do you worry so much, Dispatch? We've got so many guards over here that nothing could get through."

Dispatch: "Sorry man, you know protocol, It's just...  well you know, can't be too sure these days."

Nearby the entrance is a circuit breaker that must be powering the lights in the structure.
I flip the switch to turn the lights off and start hearing guards chattering overhead.

Guard 1: "What just happened to the lights?"

Guard 2: "Relax, it's probably just one of the guys messing around."

Guard 1: "It could be the intruder down there."

Guard 3: "No, We've got our best guy down there. Nothing can get past him."

Guard 2: "Who, Jason? That guy couldn't see Christmas coming."

Guard 4: "Maybe a couple of us should go down and check... You know, just to be sure."

Guard 1: "I'll go check."

Someone in The Nut must like large propane tanks, because I see another one just outside the structure...
Right next to a support column. That could be useful.

I hind behind the tank as the guard comes down and sees the tasered Guard.

Guard 1: "Oh no! Jason!"

And of course, the guard starts to wake up from his little nap.

Guard 1: "Are you OK? What happened?"

Jason: "Did you see who did this to me? I shall make them into a wallet."

Guard 1: (into radio) "Dispatch, send some men out here. The intruder is over here."

Dispatch: "Negative, there could be more than one. We'll finish searching inside the base, then we will send some guys out there."

I see the Guard switching his radio to a different channel.

Guard 1: "All units in Guard Post 3 stay on high alert. That intruder is around here."

I take out my silenced pistol and shoot in his general direction, but not at him.

He sees the bullet shooting past him.

Guard: "Whoa! Where did that come from?!"

I repeat the process and again the guard sees the bullet.

Guard: "Sniper!"

He finds cover behind a lamppost and I decide to move past the propane tank and use it... But not before
freaking out the guard that is still in the vicinity on the first floor.

I toss a grenade far enough so that the blast will not kill him.

Jason: "Grenade! Run!"

He runs off onto the second floor, narrowly avoiding the blast.

I sneak away from the structure and throw a grenade at the propane tank.

The grenade explodes first, causing all the guards upstairs to go into a tizzy.

Guard 5: "That is happening way too much!"

Guard 3: "What keeps exploding down there?"

Guard 2: "Everyone down to the first floor. Lets end this. If you see the intruder, shoot first and ask questions never!"

I walk out of the vicinity of the guard post, just in time for the propane tank to explode.

The structure starts slowly collapsing as the guards realize what just happened.

Guard 1: "It's going down! Run! Run!"

I walk the few miles to the listening post, where my plane ride home is waiting for me.

My earpiece crackles to life again.

Mr.Bill: "Local news over there reports that a bomb went off near a propane tank. Did you have anything to do with that?"

Me: "Yes sir."

Mr.Bill: *laugh* "Well congrats on getting out of there safely. Was the op successful?"

Me: "I've got to show you this in person. We hit the mother lode!"

And so I make my way back to the malware fighter HQ and tell Mr.Bill what I discovered...
But that's another story.
